Visiting Assistant Professor, East Tennessee State University

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the College of Arts & Sciences at East Tennessee State University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in sociology to begin January 9, 2015. This is a one-year position, renewable for up to three years, pending departmental needs. Substantive areas of training and research are open; the successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in research methods, statistics, and data analysis using statistical software.

Candidates with a PhD in sociology and those close to PhD completion (ABD) are encouraged to apply. Evidence of ability to teach research methods and statistics at the undergraduate level is required. Preference will be given to candidates whose interests expand the current strengths of the department.

East Tennessee State University is part of the Tennessee Board of Regents system with over 14,000 students. The department offers undergraduate majors in sociology and anthropology and an M.A. in sociology.
